Make Me Up

Hey kittens, Missy here!
Make up is one of those things that I find is hard to get right. It could just be me, but I'm sure some of you share the same struggles as I do!

Now I'm pretty pale and usually my foundation is called "fair" or "light" or in some cases just "translucent". It's hard for me to find the right thing that works, as I usually get a lot of redness on my cheeks. So I need something that will cover the redness but not make me look a clown.

I want to look and feel good, not make people want to throw a lemon pie in my face and chuck white wash down my trousers! What a waste of pie that would be.

So, in November, our work had it's Christmas party and I decided for the first time in my adult life to get my makeup done professionally! I went to Mecca Cosmetica in Brisbane City and the girl who did my makeup was just lovely and did an amazing job.

The products used for my makeup were the Colour Correcting Cream and One Step Correct by Stila. They had a green base in each which levels out the colours in my face.

After saving I went back recently and purchased these two along with a few other essentials!

The Hydrating Finishing Powder by Stila is a translucent loose powder that can be used by most skin tones. It's a very light finish, I add a bit of my MAC Studio Fix Powder in (NW15) if I want a more heavy duty coverage as the Stila is a bit dark for me and too much makes me orange.

Before applying any makeup I like to start with a nice fresh face!
My skin can get quite oily, mostly because I live in Brisbane and also because I wear glasses pretty much every waking moment. Thanks parents.

To help this I decided to get a new cleanser and I've been using this Nars Skin Cleanser for about two weeks and I love it! It really cleans my face and makes it feel so fresh and scrubbed. I've had a few breakouts lately and it's helped to clear them up. I definitely recommend it!

Lastly, I bought two more matte lip pencils by Nars because I love them so much. And I love lip sticks and glosses; they just finish a look for me and tie it all together. I also have smallish lips so it makes them appear a bit bigger too!

These are the two colours I purchased:
Pink is Never Say Never
Red is Red Square

You can purchase all these items from Mecca Cosmetica!
