Welcome To Candy Kingdom

As I'm sure you've all noticed, here at Mixie we like a lil' bit of colour.

Okay maybe a lot!

And why not?! It's fun, expressive and even a tiny splash of colour to an outfit can change it!

And when your hair is looking like you stepped through a candy factory and got sucked into a machine … well … no outfit is dull.

Most ladies treasure their hair, and we certainly do. But finding a hairdresser who you know will do a fabulous job is a tricky one, but luckily for Lexie and I we do not have that problem!

Our dear magical hair dresser, Bonnie, from Scissors, Paper, Rock Salon has done a wonderful job on our hair!

I kinda chopped all my hair off and now look like Princess Bubblegum - The Younger Years.

While Lexie, inspired by Kesha's latest hair do turned herself into Lady Rainicorn!

 What a team, heh!

We took some more fun snaps at the back of work yesterday! Was such a lovely Summer day!

Dear Mixie Meets Polyvore!

A note from Lexie-Lou..

There has been many a time where I have been feeling a bit mopey or miserable, and I've desperately needed a colourful cheer up. Especially at this time of year when everything starts getting super hectic and I need a quiet and cost-effective escape.

This is where Polyvore comes in handy :)

Putting together an outfit is a great distraction and is definitely safer than impulse shopping online (which is one of my more expensive habits).

Here is a pastel summer ensemble I day dreamed up on a mopey Monday afternoon!

Nothing Like A Good Lay

Evening all!

My favourite time of the year is usually Spring, 90% of the reason is because it's my birthday.

I mean, you get free cake. Free Cake guys. Cake.

Anyway!

The other part is the fashion, it's starting to warm up and I can finally wear the millions of new Spring clothes I've no doubt purchased. Also means I need to shave my legs but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

But oh dear Spring, you brings to mind all kinds of delightful things! The warm afternoons, cute sandals, floral prints and cute straw hats. It's not cold, it's not hot - it's just right.

Unfortunately, Lexie and I live in Queensland where Spring doesn't exist. Well at least for no longer than about a week - if that.

It'll be a million degrees (seriously), humid and then it'll just rain randomly. Even if it's sunny.
Not kidding, happened to me today. There was blue sky above my head but there was rain falling on me. I told my mother that this was highly unacceptable.

So you can imagine it's hard to structure an adorable outfit when you live in a state that has more mood swings than twenty tweens combined.

I have created two little flat lays from some of my favourite clothing pieces that I do like to wear during this crazy season.

I love tartan and usually it's more of a pattern for the cooler months but that is not going to stop me! I've paired this lovely tartan shirt with a quirky kitty hat and some stacked sandals. This shirt is over-sized so I can wear it as a dress because I ain't got time for pants!
But just because I'm a scaredy pants doesn't mean you can't wear it tucked into some a pair of shorts or a skirt!

This next look is kinda saying "It's Spring so I'm going to dress it and weather - you better not ruin my good vibes!"

It's my take on what my dear little unicorn Lexie would wear, a bit different to the tartan but still both cool enough for hot days!

Good Vibes Lay:
Top Lazy Oaf x Nasty Gal
Shorts Topshop
Earphones EB Games
Shoes Melissa Shoes
Lipstick Lime Crime in Centrifuchsia
Scent Lola by Mark Jacobs

Here are two little shoe combinations that are something to add to a simple outfit for Spring. Jelly shoes are great as, if it's rains - your shoes are made of plastic! You can go stomping in puddles all you want and just rinse them, huzzah! Plus these shoes are clear so it's a great excuse to break out some fun socks!

I hope you all enjoyed this little post! Okay well, not so little.
I'm nearly done with editing our Halloween inspired shoot and they should be up by the end of the week!
